چکیده

Background Recently, compelling data have been published on the value of salivary gland ultrasound (SGUS) in differentiating between primary Sjögren’s Syndrome (SS) from nonimmune-mediated sicca syndrome. Limited are available regarding diagnostic accuracy SGUS to distinguish SS undifferentiated connective tissue diseases associated with Objectives The aim this study was evaluate power patients those xerostomia and/or xerophthalmia and suffering diseases. Methods Our cross-sectional consecutively recruited 95 either (according American European Consensus Group criteria) or Immunological assessment biopsies were performed all patients. Ultrasonography parotid submandibular glands both sides assessed for size, parenchymal echogenicity, inhomogeneity, by same blinded rheumatologist. A second reading another rheumatologist, inter-observer Kappa calculation. Ultrasound abnormalities graded according OMERACT score ranging 0 3 (threshold ≥2). Results included patients; 51 44 disease. Patients showed a higher compared rheumatism syndrome [mean 1.69 (SD=1.17) versus 0.18 (SD= 0.44), P < 0.0001]. threshold sensitivity 60%, specificity 98%, positive predictive 97% negative 67% diagnosis SG. significant correlation also found minor biopsy/focus (r=0.64, P<0.0001). Finally, coefficient ranged 0.61 0.70. Conclusion confirmed good high other Reference [1]De Vita S, Lorenzon G, Rossi Sabella M, Fossaluzza V.
